Important Update for DME Suppliers: Medicare DMEPOS Enrollment Moratorium

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced a temporary nationwide moratorium on new Medicare DMEPOS supplier enrollments. This means that new DMEPOS Medicare applications are currently not being accepted while CMS addresses program integrity concerns.

What this means for suppliers:

New Medicare DMEPOS supplier enrollment applications are temporarily paused.

Existing enrolled suppliers can continue operating and billing Medicare normally.

Applications submitted before the moratorium date may still continue processing.

The moratorium is currently expected to remain in effect for approximately six months, unless CMS announces changes or extensions.

How We Can Still Help You

Although new Medicare DMEPOS enrollments are temporarily paused, our consulting services continue to support DME providers, including:

✔ Commercial insurance credentialing and enrollment
✔ DME business startup consulting
✔ Compliance and accreditation preparation
✔ Medicare readiness planning for when enrollment reopens
✔ Contracting with private payers

If you were planning to start a DME company or expand your payer network, this is still an excellent time to prepare your business, complete commercial insurance enrollments, and position yourself for Medicare enrollment once the moratorium is lifted.

If you have questions about how this affects your DME business, feel free to contact us for guidance and planning during this period.

We will continue monitoring CMS updates and keep our clients informed of any changes.
