Important Update for DME Suppliers: Medicare DMEPOS Enrollment Moratorium
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced a temporary nationwide moratorium on new Medicare DMEPOS supplier enrollments. This means that new DMEPOS Medicare applications are currently not being accepted while CMS addresses program integrity concerns.
What this means for suppliers:
New Medicare DMEPOS supplier enrollment applications are temporarily paused.
Existing enrolled suppliers can continue operating and billing Medicare normally.
Applications submitted before the moratorium date may still continue processing.
The moratorium is currently expected to remain in effect for approximately six months, unless CMS announces changes or extensions.
